The inland taipan is a very long snake. It can grow up to 8-10 feet long, and it is one of the most venomous snakes in the world. It is native to central Austrailia, so if you live there, don't crawl under any rocks. They could kill an adult human in 45 minutes. Although deadly, they are shy and prefer to run then fight. They will only attack when cornered or hunting. They turn black in the summer and brown in the winter. They lay eggs in quantities of one to two dozen at a time. Their body is covered in tiny scales, so it might take quite a few of them to cover it. Don't you really want to run into one of these guys?
